SYPAQ to Host Digital Interns 31 August 2021

SYPAQ is proud to be part of the Victorian Government’s new Digital Jobs program, backing businesses to find great people by training and upskilling mid-career Victorians to meet Victoria’s growing need for digital skills.

The Victorian Government’s Digital Jobs program aims to build the state’s digital workforce by training and upskilling mid-career Victorians so they can transition into digital careers.

A 2021 study by RMIT Online and Deloitte found 87 percent of jobs in Australia require digital literacy skills. Other research states that Victoria would need an extra 33,000 digital technology workers by 2024. As such, SYPAQ encourages other Victorian technology businesses to consider hosting interns.

Through Digital Jobs, 5,000 mid-career Victorians will complete a six-month program that includes 12 weeks of industry-backed training followed by 12 weeks in a digital job with a Victorian business.

As part of the program, SYPAQ will be hosting a team of digital interns who will be aligned with our Cyber Security, Information Systems, Atlassian and AI & Analytics teams, building future technologies and contributing to our whole of business transformation. This project will give interns experience in digitising workflows, automation and the future of work, aligned to their strengths and interests

Michael Partridge, SYPAQ’s General Manager, Innovation & Strategic Programs, said, “This is a fantastic initiative to help build Victoria’s digital workforce, and we can’t wait for our interns to join the SYPAQ team.”
